Update on ‘The Quiet Revival’
You may have seen recent coverage of The Quiet Revival, a report published last year by the Bible Society in England and Wales that highlighted encouraging signs of renewed interest in Christian faith, particularly among young people.
Last week, the Bible Society in England and Wales shared that YouGov, who conducted the survey, has since identified an issue with the survey sample. As a result, the report can no longer be relied upon as a definitive picture of the spiritual landscape. We are grateful for the transparency and integrity shown in addressing this openly.
Here in Northern Ireland, while we do not have equivalent large‑scale research, we continue to hear many encouraging stories through our relationships with churches — of people engaging with the Bible, exploring Christian faith, and asking new questions.
While it is disappointing that this research cannot stand, our confidence does not rest in a single report. We continue to rejoice in what God is doing and remain committed to serving the Church as people encounter Jesus through His Word.
Please join us in praying for our colleagues in the Bible Society in England and Wales, and for the ongoing work of Bible Societies around the world, as together we seek to shine a light on what God is doing through the Bible.
